The NHS, the amazing people in it and my cousin Alex who gave me part of herself
To everyone in the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh and the Western General who figured out what had gone wrong, looked after me, hugged me when I cried, helped me feel positive, kept me alive, made me feel safe, carried out my transplant and continue to make sure I'm well: thank you. You'll never know what it means. To my astonishing cousin Alex who let me have her kidney: you are my hero!
This is me the morning after my transplant last year, the happiest man alive
