Thank you for giving me your kidney. Your death has given me my life back. I hope your passing was a peaceful one and from the bottom of my heart I am grateful to you and wish all those who loved you my love.

Giving thanks everyday to my donor and donor family for the gift of my kidney 41 years ago, and for all the happy memories I was fortunate to share with my late husband , John. Memories I would not have made if not for my donor and donor family’s kindness in their time of sorrow.

I got my new kidney on 10th April 2018. Liz, my wife, couldn’t donate directly so we entered the Paired/Pooled donation scheme. It was a masterclass in coordination by the transplant teams. It went extraordinarily well for us and I’m about to celebrate 5 years with my new kidney. Thank you so much to my very special wife who, without complaint made it possible, to the other two couples and the amazing transplant team. Without you all life would be very different. Thank you.

Cath donated a kidney to me 23 years ago when I was just 20 years old, I was on dialysis for 9 hours every night and struggling to live a so called normal life. But Cath's gift of life changed everything, I have been able to travel the world and create a family with my wife and 2 kids. Cath is a close friend of the family and at the time an unrelated living transplant was quite rare, fortunately that has changed over the past few years and has become more common.

Young Adult Kidney Weekend

I would like to thank everyone behind the Young Adult Kidney Weekend - the staff, the volunteers, and all of the Young Adult kidney patients that have attended. I first went in 2015 when I felt very depressed and isolated, and it was life-changing to meet people in the same situation as me, dealing with similar issues, and it impacted my entire outlook.
